A trip to the littlest zoo of all

Last Friday I took Hank to the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo.  This place is so hilarious but also so awesome at the same time.  It is by no means a real zoo or a real museum,  It has less than 10 animal exibits - two raccoons (gag), two bobcats, a peacock, ducks, snakes, bats (in a very scary cave), and a few other small furry things.  The museum portion consists of several beat up science fair looking exhibits with lots of fans, pvc pipes, levers, pulleys and tennis balls all working together to entertain the kids.  All of this may sound like a pretty pathetic place...but it was so perfect for Hank.  Since everything is beat up anyway, he couldn't hurt a thing!  He ran around and loved getting into everything and nudging his way in there in between the bigger kids.  The animal area was fun for him but he was more interested in following other kids around than looking at many of the animals.
Crawling through one of the exhibits.  He spent a lot of time in this structure laughing and tried to crawl around as fast as he could.

Climbing up on the stone frogs out in the animal aka "zoo" area.

I knew ahead of time that this place was not the typical zoo, so I didn't have very high expectations for our visit.  But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and I'm definitely going to take him back there.  It was a great way to burn up an afternoon and it only costs $3 for admission!  It's also right next door to a really good park - so it is a one stop destination for entertaining Hank.
