Twelve

Whack picture taken on our date night with no flash using my cell phone.  But this post needed a pic of the two of us so I'm working with what I got.

As of last Sunday we have been hitched for 12 years!  We did most of our celebrating on Saturday with a a trip to the beach with the kids and a sushi dinner date by ourselves.  On Sunday we just tried to soak up as much family time as we could and that was enough celebration for us.

We stopped for something sweet and a little coffee before we came back home and as I sat there drinking from my cup I look down and see they are advertising that their treats are perfect for anniversaries.  How cute.

We started our anniversary celebration off earlier that day by taking our crew to the beach at Capitola, our favorite spot.  It may be a lot of work to get two babies and a toddler and a stroller (that has to be carried over the sand) and a box of pizza and a blanket and a beach bag to a nice spot on the beach but we loved every minute of it.  We love going to the beach so we couldn't think of anything we would rather be doing for our anniversary than celebrating it just like this with our children.  As we were lugging all of our gear back to the van Brett and I both said we wanted to come back immediately and do it all again.  Ok, maybe I was the one that said that but Brett agreed.

The weather at Capitola that day was GORGEOUS!  My heart is aching to get back there soon!

All twelve years have been great but the last year has been the best.  We added to our family and our hearts grew even more.  Especially for each other.

15 years of togetherness

Today marks 15 years of togetherness for Brett and me.  (Or maybe it was yesterday, I never can remember if it was the 2nd or 3rd, and for sure Brett has no idea).  My dear Brett...I've loved every minute of these past 15 years plus the several months before that when I was stalking you and waiting for you to ask me out on a date.

Lots of random posts coming up here on The Blogtacular.  The month of March flew by for me and the blog fell by the wayside.  There are posts in draft mode and pictures piling up on my computer just waiting to be shared.  I've been sewing lately and have a few projects planned for Easter so that has been taking up my spare time after the kiddos go to sleep.  Regular posting to resume soon!

11 years!

On this day 11 years ago I married the man of my dreams.  We celebrated our anniversary today in a very low key and totally Angie & Brett kind of way.  We lined up our fabulous babysitter to watch Hank for the bulk of the day so we could go to our doctor's appointment, have lunch at Pizza Antica (our favorite restaurant), and check out some minivans.  Yes you read that right and yes I really did just type that.  I test drove a minivan. On. My. Anniversary. 

Not 100% sure yet but it looks like we might get one.  Oh man it is so hard to believe.  If you had told me 11 years ago that we would spend this anniversary in an ultrasound room watching twin girls kick me in my ribs AND I would be out looking at minivans I would have called you crazy.

I guess this kind of crazy is our new normal.  I love you Brett! Happy Anniversary!

A decade

Brett and I have been married 10 years today. This is the best anniversary yet - it's our first one since having Hank. Our anniversary seems to have so much more meaning now that we can celebrate the beginning of our family rather than just our marriage.

9 years

Today is our nine year anniversary!

I did some internet searching on the phrase "nine years" and nothing much comes up. I was going to create a list for you of all the things that take 9 years, but everything was kind of lame. I guess the number 9 is no big deal because 10 is the show stealer. We'll have to wait until next year for that!

For us, 9 years has been wonderful and full of laughter and happiness. It's our last anniversary before the little guy makes his debut!

Our celebration will have to wait until this weekend when he returns from Texas. Only four more days!
