Meeting Jonathan

I was in Dallas this past weekend for Courtney's bridal shower and while I was there I got to meet my nephew Jonathan!  He is four months old tomorrow.  I stayed at Lisa's house on Friday night and was so happy I got to spend a little bit of time with this little guy.

Welcome to the world Baby J!

Late last night my sister Lisa and her fiancee Paul welcomed their baby boy into the world.  He is adorable!

Jonathan Stephen

7 lbs 7 oz
20.5 inches
Her older boys, Pearce (9) and Luke (5) came up to meet their new baby brother today.  I wish I could hold that cute little guy.  Living in another state from my sisters really kills me sometimes!  I can't wait to meet him!
Today I showed these pictures to Hank and on the way to church he kept asking "where is Jonathan?"  Then he was pointing to the spare seat in the van and saying "Jonathan will sit right there."

Dallas roundup!

We had a great time on our trip to Dallas.  We were there a little less than two weeks ago and we crammed in as many visits with friends and family as possible!  Here's a quick round up...although I missed some pics with Aunt Jeannette, Auntie NeNe and Auntie LeLe.  So sorry!

Exploring the sweet dog house at Aunt Marsha's.  Hank totally loved it and was laughing his head off when the dog came up and started licking him.
Grandma Wilson (my grandma) and Aunt Marsha.  We had a great lunch with them and Marsha's husband Kevin. Hank even got an Easter basket and a pair of bunny ears!
Goofy picture but I had to post this because he wore them for days after we visited Marsha.
We finally got to meet Leah, the daughter of my high school friend Bridgett.  Leah is only a couple of months younger than Hank and it was so sweet to see these two kiddos together.  She wasn't quite sure what to make of the boy who came to her house and rifled through all of her toys.

By the end of the visit, the two of them were playing together and even passing a ball back and forth.  It was pretty cute.

We also stopped over at my Dad's house and Hank got to play with Wilson and Jayde.  This was such a great visit.  We walked in the door and Hank tore off down the hall to Jayde's room and only came out a few times to play with other toys.  He had so much fun.  Their tunnel was a big hit.  Hank had never played in one before and he went bananas in there.  It was hard to get him out.

Wilson cruising through the tunnel.

Hank and Jayde playing blocks and also playing with every. single. toy. in her room.  At one point I walked in there and these blocks were strewn all over the room in every single nook and cranny.  I found Hank standing on the bed holding a block.  I asked Jayde if Hank threw them all over the place and she said yes and Hank just smiled.

Hank and Luke taking a snack break.  Hank had so much fun playing with his cousins!  He was really holding his own with them and the guys were very gentle even when Hank tackled them to the ground.  Hank was so worn out when it was bed time after playing with them.  I wish these boys could come over to our house every day!

Hank entertaining himself with kid music on the airplane.  He was very good on both flights.  We flew Virgin America and it was a dream!  Easy on, easy off, plenty of room and everyone was so nice.  I think they just might be my new favorite airline for Dallas trips!

Walking with Grandmama and me in Dallas.

It was such a nice trip.  We miss everyone in Texas!

Christmas Recap: Dallas Part 2

We had our last Christmas celebration over at my sister Lisa's house.  By the time this party rolled around, Hank was well versed in watching other people open gifts and he was ready to get in on the action himself.  He tore into his own gifts!

Poor Ellie!  Sometime earlier in the day she injured her eye so Brett had to leave the Christmas party at the beginning to take her to the emergency vet hospital.  She had a tear on her eye.  It made me so sad because it had to of been painful.  She was so quiet and calm that day as a result.  This picture shows Luke being a good boy and keeping a safe distance from her.  Since Ellie was sick we needed to give her some space (aka kids need to stay away!)  She has since recovered fully and is in wonderful health again.  Yay Ellie!

This humongous stuffed horse was a gift that Pearce received for Christmas when he was a little boy.  It was so funny when Brett brought it out into the living room with Hank on the back of it.  It was like deja vu!  I remember Pearce as a little one on that horse!

Christmas Recap: Dallas Part 1

The next stop on our Texas trip was Dallas.  We headed over to my Dad's house and had a Christmas get together over there.  Hank again had lots of cousins to play with here and he loved getting into all of the fun toys in Jayde's room.

Hank felt like the shelf on the coffee table was the perfect hideout for him.  I had a hard time pulling him out of there so we just left him.

Christmas Recap: Austin

Jesse, Hank and Kai

We spent a few days in Austin on our trip to Texas.  While we were there, we celebrated Christmas with Brett's family.  Now that Hank is old enough to play with his cousins it was great to sit back and watch him play with them.
Hank was the recipient of a lot of hugs and squeezes from Kai and Jesse.  To show his affection, he would crush them and sometimes pretend to go night night on them.

Jesse showing off his impressive head standing skills.

Family shot...yes that is Justin Bieber in the front row.  If you want to meet him let me know and I can hook you up.  Hank is already really into him.

While in Austin, Brett was able to score lots of cuddles from Hank!  (He was running a fever off and on that week so he was extra cuddly).  Brett was soaking up all the loving, even if he did have to endure Hank's finger in his eye.

Our friends Nita and Saber were able to stop by and visit us at Kathy's house.  They couldn't bring their sweet daughter Harper because she was sick.  We were really bummed but we were so glad for Nita and Saber to finally get to meet Hank!

We also got to see our friends Brittany and Tim along with their daughter Presley and fur baby Leo.  Silly me didn't get any pictures but we LOVED visiting with them and seeing their new house in Austin.  We're still very sad they left SF but so very glad they are settling down in Austin.

Peek a boo on the airplane

We can't get enough of peek a boo around here.

Watch for the freak out at the end.  He was very good on both legs of our trip but every now and then he would do the freak out because he hated being strapped in.

Hey y'all

Hank and I are in Dallas this week (Brett was here for the weekend) and it has been a nice laid back trip so far visiting family and friends.  We head back home on Sunday!

Hey y'all I'm in Texas!

Contraption Brett pulled together so we could wheel Hank's car seat on the back of our stroller.
I love it!  It was so helpful getting through the airport since Hank has his own seat on this trip and I have to carry the seat by myself on the way home.

Hank wanted to stretch his legs before the long flight.

Hamming it up at Courtney's.

So hot

It's hot as Texas up in har.

I know my peeps in Texas have been dealing with 100 degree heat for a few weeks straight now, but I was barely surviving today. Hank and I had to go drive around so I could blast us with some AC. It is still super hot out right now and it's 10pm at night!

Texas star

Auntie LiLi and Auntie NeNe

Grandma and Gigi

On our visit to Texas, Hank was the star and he was spoiled by all the attention. I am pretty sure he spent more time in the arms of his aunties and his grandmas than he did in mine! That's OK. Now that we're back in California I get the cutie pie all to myself - at least when Brett isn't home!
