Nine Months

Henry is 9 months old today! Oh my goodness I just can't believe he is this old. This boy is so wonderful and he has made our life so much more fulfilling than I could have ever imagined!!

He has a lot of likes right now. #1 has to be Ellie. These pictures show all the antics he goes through while eating because of Ellie. When she walks past him he goes nuts and turns around in order to watch her. That makes it pretty hard to feed him!

His other likes - he still LOVES pushing everything that moves in our house. He also loves to scream/babble/sing. This week he has been dancing when he hears music and it cracks me up. He likes it when I dance to music as well.

As for words...he absolutely knows that "Ellie" means Ellie and he even says it when he sees her. I have a video of this that I need to post. He also knows that "birds" means the bird mobile that is hanging from the ceiling above his bed. He touches the birds every night and every nap time before he goes to sleep. He also knows that "out" means to crawl out of which ever room he is in. I normally say "out" when he is in my room and I need him to go out! (We try to keep him out of our room by keeping the door closed but when I am getting ready he is allowed to be in there with me.) He learned this because this is what I say to Ellie when it's time to go out of Hank's room. He still says "dada" but I am not completely sure he knows that this means "Brett". He has been saying it more often around Brett but it is still TBD if he knows what it means.

Some of his favorite things right now...outside! He LOVES it when I open the back door to let Ellie go outside. He will drop everything that he is doing and high tail it to the back door in hopes of getting to go outside. This cracks me up to no end because of the hundreds of times that I have let Ellie outside lately, he has been able to crawl out there maybe once. I think he really must think that if he crawls fast enough, he's going to get to crawl out the back door.

His other favorite thing is the bath. When he hears the water running he goes bananas and comes into the bathroom and watches me fill up his duck bath tub. I need to post some videos or photos of this.

Doing the double chair push

His favorite play time activity is pushing. This kid will push anything. If the item is not nailed down or glued down or too heavy for him, he will push it. Each day I have to deal with all things in this house moved around in unusual places. It doesn't bother me at all because he loves it so much. I just leave everything all over the place until he goes to bed for the night so that I only have to clean up once per day.

We had his 9 month appt today. Here are his stats:
height: 29 3/4" (91%)
weight: 18 lbs 13 oz (23%)
head: 18 in (Kaiser doesn't give the percentages for head measurements)

So...apparently he has shot up in height over the past couple of months. He was 45% height at his 6 month appointment.

Examining his boo boo

No shots today at his doctor appointment but they did draw a little blood to do an anemia test. Our doctor tests all babies this age to make sure they have enough iron in their diet. He was a little feisty when they drew blood (by pricking his finger tip) but didn't shed any tears. Once we got to the car and I tried to take a picture of him with his little bandage, THEN he started to cry. Poor little guy didn't like it that I wouldn't let him eat his bandage. I promptly just took it off so he didn't eat it while we drove home.

The past month has been fabulous with Hank. He is turning into a little boy before our eyes!
