Hank came down with an ear infection today. Poor guy. This was his first one and I was a little upset by it too. He has had a little cold for a couple of days but has been feeling just fine, maybe a little extra tired. This morning he was so funny and happy. When I picked him up from preschool at noon he seemed fine but right when I put him in his car seat he turned pale and said his ear hurt so bad and started to get very upset. By the time we got home he was crying and he ran right inside and said he wanted to get in his bed. He didn't want to eat lunch. He curled up in his bed and started yelling "get my ear out of here!" and "get my ear away from me" over and over. (The word choice was funny but he was so sad.) He was so desperate and his eyes were so scared. I felt so terrible. After 15 miutes of suffering he fell asleep for about 30 minutes. This kid hasn't taken a nap in over a month. Luckily after an hour and a half of being out of sorts he just flipped to being happy again. We got in to the doctor's office this afternoon and she confirmed he has an ear infection. He was such a big boy and explained everything to the doctor himself. After the appointment, we ventured around downtown Mountain View the rest of the day since we had time to kill. On the down side, the girls have colds right now too and really could have used their afternoon nap that they had to miss. They were so tired they didn't even beg to get out of the stroller the entire afternoon! Three kiddos with colds!
Hank weighs 34.5 lbs and is 38 3/4 inches tall. He has put on 1.5 lbs in six weeks! And also grown 1/4 inch. I have been feeling like his cheeks looked chubbier to me lately. This explains it.
