August 2012 - Ruby's MRI

Charlotte and her Momma
Last August Ruby had an MRI on her head and neck.  Everything turned out fine but she had a small pea sized bulge on her head that would pulsate and our doctor and a consulted neurologist wanted to have checked out.  The MRI basically confirmed that it was just part of her little soft spots and that she would outgrow it...and she has.

I am posting about this six months later for two reasons.  1.  I am procrastinating finishing up some longer posts about the kiddos birthdays and milestones.  2.  I saw these pictures on my computer and they always bring a smile to my face even though it was a pretty emotional day for us.  The reason I smile?  Because when Ruby woke up from her sedation she let out a quiet little cat-lion like roar that Brett and I loved to pieces and we still talk about how cute it was.  She was just laying there all sluggish and out came this little roar.  We talk about it often and how much we loved it.  It was her way of letting us know she was coming out of sedation and everything was going to be OK!

While Ruby was getting her MRI we had an hour to spend with Charlotte.  So we took some pictures to entertain ourselves.

Ruby recovering from her sedation.  By the way, watching your baby get sedated is very unnerving.  She went limp in my arms when they injected her with the sleepy cocktail.  I about started bawling and was so relieved that the doctor took her from me immediately.

Post roar.
