Charlotte and Ruby - 7 months

Charlotte & Ruby (28 weeks)

Charlotte and Ruby are 7.5 months old now (again, late with the birthday posting) but here's what they were up to at 7 months...

This month the girls started sleeping full time in Hank's room at night and for naps when Hank is out of the house.  It took a couple of weeks to work out the kinks but we finally have it figured out and Hank really seems to enjoy his sisters sleeping in his room.

Both are sleeping so well, but they are usually waking up between 4 and 6.  I normally go get who ever is crying to nurse her and then put her back down to sleep in our room.  Since it is so close to morning/wake time I don't want the other kids to be disrupted.  A few times Hank has woken up and asked what was going on.  I just tell him it's still night night and he lays back down to go to sleep.

They have started to take longer and longer naps in the morning so they have effectively worked themselves into a two nap routine each day.  Although several times a week I would put them down for a cat nap in the evenings since it seemed like they still needed it.

They are nursing 5 times a day and we'll probably stay at this number of feedings for a while.

They laugh hysterically at Hank, especially when he stands on the coffee table and dances for them.  They smile at him all the time when he shows them attention.   I love seeing these girls loving their brother.

They go absolutely bananas when they first see Brett when he comes home from work.  They are so interested in him and love to follow him with their gazes.  When he gets close to their faces to give them a kiss the girls both love to reach for his face and hold it.  I think they like to hold him still so they can try to plant a kiss on him!
Charlotte on the go.  (27 weeks)
Ruby working on her crawling moves.  (27 weeks)
They want to crawl so badly.  They are so determined.  Ruby can go places pretty quickly by using her tummy in conjunction with her knees and arms.  Charlotte is still using her face and head a lot with her tummy and arms.  If they see a toy on the other side of the room that they want they have no trouble getting to it so they are mobile but not officially crawling yet.

Right around 7 months, Charlotte sat up for the first time while playing in the bassinet (now set up as a play yard) in our room.  I watched her slowly push herself up to sitting.  I was so excited for her and I made such a big scene that Brett came to check out what all the commotion was about!  We are so proud of our big girl!
R & C  (30 weeks)
They started to eat solids this month!  They have had baby oatmeal, banana, avocado, sweet potatoes, pears, and carrots.  They really love the oatmeal, fruits, and sweet potatoes.  Surprisingly, avocado is hit or miss.  Charlotte actually refused to eat it for a few days and then warmed up to it.  As for eating in general, Ruby LOVES to eat.  She sits happily upright in her chair and waits with her mouth wide open, often yelling as she anticipates the spoon coming towards her mouth.  Charlotte kicks back and politely opens her mouth for the spoon and only squeals if she is really hungry.

They are getting too big.  I want to freeze time!  We love these little girls so much.
