Sick days

Last month marked the first time we really had to do a "sick day" for Hank around here.  And we did it not once but twice.  The first sick day was for a pulled muscle in his neck. Crazy huh?  He was fine when he woke up but about an hour later he would barely move and only wanted to stay cuddled up in my lap.  He complained of neck pain and was crying off and on so Brett took him to the doctor.  Poor thing.  He got to hang out on the couch all day and watch TV since he wasn't supposed to move too much.

Trying to muster a smile but he would wince whenever he tried to be happy...so instead he kinda just frowned all day.  His range of motion was affected for about a week after this but he has since recovered.

The next sick day was a week later.  Again, he wanted to cuddle in my lap all morning long and he was super hot.  The hottest he's ever felt.  I think his temp was almost 104.  He spent the day lounging on the couch and even had a couple of bouts of vomiting.  That part was horrible.  He was so freaked out and sad about it.  He really freaked out when he vomited on me when I picked him up to console him.  Maybe that's too much information but it was my first time to get barfed on by a kid so I feel like documenting this occasion.
He ran a fever for almost three days but it finally broke and it was never high enough to go to the doctor.  The second day he was still very run down and I found him like this on the couch mid-morning.  He has never fallen asleep anywhere outside of his car seat or bed since he's been a bigger kid.  I loved getting the chance to watch him sleep.  He fell asleep on me later that day too.  I hated him being sick but I have to admit that I loved all the cuddling and caring for him.
