Happy Halloween - surrender the booty!

Tonight our family of five made it's first visit to someone else's house.  We all headed over to the Chen's house to trick or treat and to celebrate Sandy's birthday.  Hank and Max were pirates and they got to ride around the neighborhood in their very own pirate ship!
Sandy made the wagon look AMAZING and it was so cute to have the boys in matching costumes.  I have to give BIG HUGE THANKS to Sandy for making this Halloween so much fun.  Last month we decided to dress the boys as matching pirates.  Since I was going to be useless in the craft department for a while after the girls arrived Sandy took care of everything!  She ordered both of the costumes AND did the wagon.  My kid got to have a cute Halloween and I didn't even do anything!
On our trek we came across a house that was all decked out with pirate goodness.  It was perfect for a photo op so Brett rolled the wagon right through their lawn so the boys could pose by a treasure chest. ha!  Good thing the creepy lady passing out candy on the porch didn't seem to mind.

Hank is really dressed as half of a pirate.  The other half is surfer.  He wouldn't take off his hoodie shirt (so he wore the costume top over it), he only wanted to wear shorts (and not the pants that came with the costume) and he went barefoot.  But all in all he still looked like a pirate!  At least he wore the full costume this past weekend at a pumpkin patch...I'll get to posting those photos eventually!

Our little pirate says "arghhhhh surrender the booty!"
The girls slept their way through their first Halloween all nice and cozy swaddled in the stroller.
The girls also slept their way through photos before we headed out to go trick or treating.  Look at the adorable hair bows Annika's mom (Crafty Jan!) made for them!!  I didn't exactly position the bows in the right spot on their heads in the photos but they looked so cute!

Tonight we were an hour late getting to their house.  How come it is so hard for me to remember that newborns take a while to get out of the house?  We have two newborns so it takes twice as long.  Eventually I'll get it.  Gone are the days when we could just toss our kid in the car and head out.  Now we have to change about 5 diapers, adjust car seat straps 10 different ways and actually pack a diaper bag.  All this and work around their eating schedule.  We have gone on little errands here and there but this was our first outing where we actually hung out somewhere for a long time.  It was pretty successful and thank goodness we were visiting our good friends who were so understanding when we rolled in so late!

Happy Halloween and Happy Birthday Sandy!

Thanks SO MUCH Ang (& the entire Paulson 5!) for making the trek over. I know it was a zoo, but we totally appreciate it and I love seeing the boys together. We had a great time and can't wait to see you again. I need to hold C&R just a wee bit more :)
