Hello summer, we've been expecting you.

Yesterday we went to Happy Hollow Park & Zoo in San Jose.  We spent a few hours there in the morning and luckily we were headed out right as the temperature inched close to 90 degrees.  This outing to Happy Hollow had been planned for about a month (we went with other kids from church) but who knew summer weather would finally show up on the day we had planned to spend the entire morning outdoors!?!

It wasn't too hot (aka Texas hot) but it was definitely the hottest weather we had seen in a while and this active little guy was working up a sweat while he played on some of the equipment.

Hank enjoyed driving the police car.  He had the cutest little smile on his face the entire time.

We rode the carousel two different times because it was so fun.
The barnyard/petting zoo area was a big hit with Hank and I wish we'd been able to spend more time in this area.  We visited it right before we left.  He liked feeding the first animal he visited but after that he would put his hand out and then pull his hand back when the animal got close enough to eat the food.  I think he thought it was a little weird to have the animal touching him.  He had a smile the whole time so at least he wasn't scared!

Happy Hollow is a cute place to go with Hank.  We'll go back when he's a little older and he can ride more of the rides.  The name of this place kills me though.  If any of you are from Austin you know about Hippy Hollow out at Lake Travis.  I keep calling Happy Hollow Hippy Hollow and they are definitely not even close to being the same thing!  The people at Happy Hollow are dressed!
