LOVING the goats eating from his hand
Gigi (Brett's mom Kathy) was in town this weekend for a visit and we had a lot of fun. She ran around after Hank for four days straight and it was really nice because I got to kick back a little! On Saturday, we ventured out of Palo Alto and headed over to Half Moon Bay to do a little adventure for Hank and to get lunch by the ocean. Before lunch we went to Lemos Farm. This place is so funny. It is sort of a "Pettin Zoo" (that's how it was spelled on the sign), abandoned old west town, pony riding, bounce house, train riding, kid birthday kind of place. The whole place is sort of lame but sort of awesome when you have a little kid. My only real beef with the place is that the petting zoo consisted only of goats, no other animals. But the goats were cute so it was OK. This place has about a maximum of one hour of entertainment value for wee ones but that was perfect for Hank. We had a lot of fun watching him explore everything. They have a bunch of wooden rocking horses, bicycles, tricycles, hot wheels, and other rocking toys to play on. Of course, Hank loved all of these and tried to push as many of them as possible. Riding them isn't really his thing.
Gigi, Hank and Brett on the train ride around the park. (Virtually impossible to get a photo with all three of them looking at me!!)
There was a play structure that was just perfect for pint sized people. He could climb all around and inside it without much help from us and without us fearing he could fall. When we go to parks, Hank loves to slide so this was a great place to let him do a lot of sliding by himself. Nowadays when he goes down slides he makes a loud "weeeeeeeee" noise and it is so adorable.
The shredded paper stuff on the ground was so interesting to Hank. He must have picked up 20 handfuls of that stuff so he could throw it and see what happened.
Hank got to do a bouncy house for the first time. There were only a couple of other little kids in there so Brett went in there with Hank so we could let him give it a try. Hank loved it and was laughing so hard. But, like always, he couldn't take his eyes off of the older kids so then he decided to just lay down and watch them jump.
Pretending to be in jail.
At Lemos Farm, I think Hank's tongue was hanging out of his mouth most of the time we were there. Hank does this when he is doing a maneuver or really getting into something he is working on. It is such a big kid thing to do and I was dying at how he was wagging that tongue as he worked his way through everything there.
This place isn't fancy or even "nice" but it is really entertaining. I am pretty sure we'll go back there again. It's a perfect place to spend an hour or so in HMB before going into town to have lunch and watch the ocean - which is what we did!
