Clap clap clap

Hank learned to clap around his 7 month birthday.  But the little guy will almost never clap for me when I try to make a video of it.  A few weeks ago, I finally captured it on video, so here it is.  (I wish it was a better video of him clapping but I am not kidding, I have been trying to capture this for 3 months so this is as good as it gets!)

He learned to clap by me saying "clap, clap, clap" while doing the clapping motion on a regular basis.  Then one day he did it back to me and he was so excited!  Sometimes I look over at him and see that he is playing with toys and then he puts his toys down and starts clapping wildly all by himself.  I love seeing him do that because he gets so excited.  Once I see him clapping, I start in with the "clap, clap, clap" to get him going even longer.  I think I must say it about 20 times a day.

This is also something we do when he is getting a little tired or fussy.  For some reason, he can't keep a sad face whenever I ask him to clap.  He usually laughs a little through his tears and tries to clap but then he goes back to his fussiness/tiredness.  It's kinda funny and usually buys me a couple more minutes before full meltdown.

Also, he claps along to songs at the library story time.  It takes him a little while to catch on but when he sees the older babies doing the clapping parts to songs he starts to clap along.  We also clap at times when no one else is clapping but it's funny so I like to encourage it!
