Knees are useful

On the move

First time crawling on his knees for more than a few steps

Somebody look at me!

In addition to using his knees to help him stand up, he's now using them all the time for crawling. He started crawling/scooting about a month ago but he was going from his knees to his tummy to his knees to get places. Now, he is using his knees to get the job done. Occasionally, he still lands on his tummy but that's usually when he's going too fast or he's too excited. And that usually means he is going after Ellie. The first time he crawled across the room using his knees for more than two steps was to get Ellie. (He's grunting because it was nap time and he was super tired!)

He's been crawling faster and he no longer stays where I put him. He tries to crawl out of the living room to come see me in the kitchen. He tries to crawl out of his room to come help me with laundry. He's very adventurous.

Now that he has crawling confidence, he has been crawling up to see me and then trying to climb up my body while I sit on the floor with him. It's cute but it's a little painful because he's not gentle about it. His hands go straight for my face, nose, hair, eyes, etc. All the places you don't want those little pinchers going.

Lastly, I caught him sitting up on his own. I have found him sitting a few times without my help, but the other day I actually saw him do it. He gets on his hands and knees and then rocks back to sit on his bottom. He was smiling at me over his shoulder almost as if he was waiting on me to look at him and see what he had done.

All of his muscles are getting such a good workout these days. He's getting stronger every day and no longer content with sitting and watching the world go by.
