Brett has 11 days left in Texas and I can't wait for him to get back here. He visited this past weekend and we had a wonderful time together but it went by too fast.
On Friday afternoon, he arrived at SFO (1.5 hrs late...I really hate airlines...did I mention that yet?) and we drove up to Jacuzzi winery in Sonoma to meet up with our friends Byron & Bianca and Jay & Myrna at an event being held there for their members and guests. The food and wine was delicious! We all headed back into SF and had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, The House of Nan King. This place is so good. You stand in a line outside on the sidewalk as you wait for your table. When you sit down the waiter (also the owner/chef) asks if you have ever been there before. If anyone at your table says "no", he grabs all the menus and doesn't let you look at them. He says he'll take care of you. They bring out plate after plate for you to share family style and some how they always know just the right amount to bring for your table. They serve Chinese food but I have never seen most of this any where else but Nan King. Byron showed us Nan King several years ago and we are so happy about that. :)
On Saturday, Brett had some business to take care of so I had to make do and allow him to spend some time with someone other than me. We ran a bunch of errands together on Saturday afternoon before meeting up with friends for Mexican food on Saturday night. We were so happy to see Leon & Sandy, Brad & Heather (who are getting married soon!) and Ann (she is getting married soon too). Brett has missed our friends a lot and it was fun to hear everyone's summer stories. We laughed a lot that night.
On Sunday, we went to church and ran more errands (yes, it was a lot of errands and I saved a lot especially for when Brett came home - ha ha) and then he headed back to Texas and the sweltering heat.
I am so happy that this week and weekend are pretty busy for me as I hope the next 11 days go by fast.
