Paulson Family HSM

At our cousin Sarah's wedding reception in February, all of the Paulsons surprised her with a rendition of the final scene from High School Musical. It might seem a little hokey to do a dance from a movie in the middle of a beautiful wedding reception, but the Paulsons love HSM and everyone knew Sarah would love it. The idea for the dance took place many months before the wedding so it's amazing we kept it a secret from her for so long.

Here's the video. Note my solo at the 2:00 mark and Brett's fancy footwork throughout, especially at the 3:00 mark.

If you go watch it on YouTube you can choose to watch it in high quality.

I love watching this video because it was so much fun and everyone in the family learned the dance and the moves - or at least the moves easiest to repeat over and over. Who wouldn't want to dance like a Wildcat?

seriously impressive, Team Paulson. Not only did you have the coordinated moves (and fancy foot AND arm work, at that) but the whole darn team stayed in there for the full dance.

how many practice sessions did you have for this?

do ya'll hire out??

We never practiced as a whole group, only smaller groups practiced together ahead of time. Brett and I were skeptical and didn't learn the dance until Saturday morning when we realized everyone in the family really did learn it and this wasn't a joke. It was so much fun to see Brett learn to do spin moves. They made him practice over and over.

OMG - you have inspired me to think about adding HSM to my netFlix list...but I really think it would be better for the Paulson's to perform this for the GSB crew live :)

I love it! I smiled and laughed out loud through the whole thing. You know that we're going to make you do the dance live next time we see you, right?
