Ellie is six

Yesterday, Ellie turned six years old. She celebrated by wearing the new coat she received from Tank Chen and she sported a bow in her hair. She tolerated both very well so she might wear this same outfit on Christmas.

Last night, in honor of Ellie's big day, we had Leon and Sandy over so we could see them before we left for Christmas and also so Sandy could spoil us with her Christmas cookies. They were delicious!

Tomorrow we head to Texas for Christmas!!

Ice ice baby

On Friday night, after helping/watching Peter and Ann move into their new house, Brett and I, along with Peter, Ann, Brad, Heather, and Nick headed to the Winter Lodge to ice skate. Earlier in the week we learned that Brad could tear it up on the ice so it was time to put him to the test. He did not disappoint and as it turns out, Peter is very awesome too. We captured some footage of his skills.

I hadn't been ice skating since elementary school and I now remember why. I'm terrible. As I was about to leave the ice, I wiped out (as my friends and husband watched and laughed hysterically) and I have the bruises all down the left side of my body to show for it. Despite the pain, it was very fun!

Fake-ation has started

Today starts the first day of fake-ation since my my contract job/project ended yesterday. I have a long list of things to do (including pretending to look for a job - thanks Nita for calling me out on that) and I'm looking forward to having the free time to get things done. I am pretty sure I could get used to this.
