Only a few more hours of work and then my favorite weekend of the year is here! I love Thanksgiving, not only for the pecan pie and green fluff, but because it's also time for the Christmas decorations to go up!
This year is even more special - my mom is coming to visit from Texas. Tomorrow will consist of food, football, and Christmas decor. We'll cook while we watch the Cowboys and then put up the Christmas tree while we watch the Longhorns.
Also, I found out this week I only have about a week left on my contract position. At least if I'm staying home looking for a job I can hang out with the Christmas tree on. I love this time of year!

Still working...for now
I went back to work on Monday and was told they have enough budget for me for a few more weeks. Ideally, "a few more weeks" will turn into "a few more quarters" but I'm not holding my breath. In the meantime, I look for another job as a back up option and try to not to smile when I think about not working. If Brett catches me smiling I'm toast.

Arts & crafts for Ellie's masterpiece
Last night I, along with five other ladies, hosted a shower for our friend Ellie, who's due to have a little girl in January. We had a great time with our "arts & crafts" theme by making personalized onesies, a scrapbook, and decorating diapers. Everyone who came added their own touch to the projects - even the ladies who claimed to have no craftiness - and the results were adorable. We had a wonderful time honoring Ellie and her little girl. We can't wait to meet the little one soon!

Unexpected free time
Starting today, I have a few days off work while the company I work for decides if they can afford to renew the contracts for all the contractors on my team. So...I'm trying to make the most of my fake-ation and get some projects done around the house. Brett has already tasked me with some things to do for his bizness (boring stuff like improve his website and start coding his new software) but that's not fun. I want to do some crafts like sewing or something cute like that. We'll see what I actually get around to doing. :)

The Spoooooooktacular
Last Friday, we had our Halloween party aka The Spoooooooktacular. Decorating the house all spooky was lots of fun and Brett was really into it with the fog machines and sound effects going outside. Everyone showed up in amazingly hilarious and creative costumes and we had a great time and lots of laughs. You can see my photos here. Also, Annika has some great pics from the party on her blog too.
By the way, that's Brett's real hair.
